GCP DevOps Engineer
£350 - £400 GBP hourly
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled GCP DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and manage enterprise-grade cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, cloud security, monitoring, and platform reliability. The role requires close collaboration with Data Engineering, Application Development, Architecture, and Operations teams to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions.Your responsibilities:
CI/CD & Release Automation
• Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate application and data platform deployments.
• Manage source control integration and release orchestration.
• Improve deployment frequency, reliability, and rollback mechanisms.
Containerization & Kubernetes
• Deploy and manage workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Manage containerized applications using Docker.
• Implement Kubernetes security, scaling, monitoring, and cluster lifecycle management.
• Optimize resource utilization and application performance.
Monitoring & Observability
• Configure and maintain Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and alerting frameworks.
• Implement application health checks, dashboards, and operational reporting.
• Define SLI/SLO metrics and establish reliability practices.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
Platform Reliability & Operations
• Maintain platform availability, resilience, and operational excellence.
• Automate routine operational tasks and infrastructure maintenance.
• Perform performance tuning and cloud cost optimization.
• Support production deployments and critical incident management.
